Using subjects from daily life, Stepman challenges reality; in her photos, foreground and background become a flat space.

Sharon Stepman attended the Art Students League as a student of George Grosz, and the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, with Primo Conti. She continued her studies at NYU, taking advantage of the master program at ICP, where she discovered the art form of photography. Her work is in many private collections in Europe, Israel, and the United States, as well as in the MoMA, New York, and the Boboli Gardens, Palazzo Pitti, of Florence, Italy.
